    • Position Summary
    • One temporary hourly-intermittent Work Study student assistant position available in the Department of Psychology and Child Development.

    • Start Date
    • Position available on or after August 21, 2024 and ending on or before May 23, 2025. Possibility of reappointment based on budget, department needs, and job performance.

    • Job Description/Duties
    • Duties include but are not limited to:
      • Assist with greeting and assisting faculty, students and community guests.
      • Support front desk in answering phone calls for the Psychology & Child Development department.
      • Answer basic questions and/or refer visitors or callers to appropriate person.
      • Operate common office equipment (copy machine, fax, scanner, etc.).
      • Maintain department-wide bulletin boards.
      • Alphabetize, file, purge, data entry and scan documents.
      • Create new student files, update advising materials and appointment binder.
      • Proctor make-up exams and handling confidential files/exams.
      • Assist with set up and clean-up of events hosted by the department (i.e. Undergraduate Research Symposium, CDEV Portfolio Presentations, Child Development Center Family Night. Etc.).
      • Run department errands to various other department offices throughout campus
      • Pickup and distribute mail to faculty and staff.
      • Assist Department Administrative Coordinators with various activities within the department as assigned.

      Other duties as assigned.

    • Preferred Qualifications:
      • Demonstrates the capability to be able to follow instructions and multi-task.
      • Demonstrates the ability to respond calmly and professionally to pressure.
      • Demonstrates ability to be dependable and punctual.
      • Demonstrates basic computer skills and intermediate skills with Microsoft Programs.
      • Demonstrates strong organization skills.
      • Demonstrates good customer service and phone skills.

      Required Qualifications:
      • Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
      • Must have received and accepted Financial Aid award for the current semester/year in which you are applying.

    • $16.00 per hour
